Huntington's Disease is a devestating hereditary  degenerative brain disorder for which there is, at present, no effective treament or cure. HD slowly diminishes the affected individuals ability to walk, think, talk and reason. Eventually, the person with HD becomes totally dependent upon others for care.

Over the past 10 years, I've watched my mother slowly deteriorate from this disease. As a teenager, I was not aware of her family's history of HD. I did not understand her mood swings or unsteady gait. I did not understand that I was also at risk for developing the same traits.

Approximately 30,000 people in the US are living with HD. Thousands more are at risk. It is my goal to raise awareness of this disease as well as provide hope to those who have tested positive for HD.
