Thanks for visiting my personal fundraising page. As many of you already know I have been training for a marathon. Although it's been slow going, I am surviving (despite residency slowly atrophying my body away!!). Even though this has been a struggle to balance my exercise routine as well as my residency schedule, it is nothing compared to what many families of a diabetic child must endure on a daily basis. The routine finger sticks, the regimented meal times, the worry whenever there is a fever or a low blood sugar. As some of you probably know, my niece Anna (11, pictured far left) and nephew Johnny (7, also pictured far left) have juvenile diabetes. Anna was diagnosed at the age of six, and has never ceased to amaze me at her perseverance in learning about how to manage her diabetes. I remember how quickly my sister Theresa would teach Anna about how to take her own sugars, and how to determine what bolus of insulin she would require. Now Anna has now become the teacher, assisting her little brother, who was only recently diagnosed, on how to treat his sugars too. Johnny himself is proving to be a quick study as well. Please help me in reaching my goal to raise money for other families like the Tantillo’s. Please read below on how to donate through this page. Thank you. -Pete Giallanza
